Core Curriculum on Tuberculosis Continuing Education Activity
Goal
The goal of the Core
Curriculum on Tuberculosis: What the Clinician Should Know
is to provide the reader with basic information about TB. Upon completion
of this educational activity, the reader should possess a clear
working knowledge of the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of
TB infection and disease.
Continuing education credit is offered for the interactive versions
(web-based and CD ROM courses).

Interactive Core Curriculum on Tuberculosis (web-based)
Instructions
To receive continuing education credit for the web-based course:
- Go to the CDC/ATSDR Training and Continuing Education Online
at http://www.phppo.cdc.gov/phtnonline/.
If you have not registered as a participant, click on New Participant
to create a user ID and password; otherwise click on Participant
Login and login.
- Once logged on to the CDC/ATSDR Training and Continuing Education
Online website, you will be on the Participant Services
page. Click on Search and Register. Enter the Course Number
WB 3071 or a keyword under Keyword Search. Click on View.
- Click on the course title. Select the type of CE credit you
would like to receive and then Submit. Three demographic
questions will come up. Complete the questions and then Submit.
A message will come up thanking you for registering for the course.
If you have already completed the course you may choose to go
right to the evaluation and posttest. Complete the evaluation
and Submit. Complete the posttest and Submit. A
record of your course completion will be located in the Transcript
and Certificate section.
Accreditation
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is accredited
by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)
to provide continuing medical education for physicians. CDC designates
this educational activity for a maximum of 5.25 hours in category
1 credit towards the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Each
physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually
spent in the educational activity.
This activity for 6.1 of contact hours is provided by the Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention, which is accredited as a provider
of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing
Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has been approved
as an Authorized Provider of continuing education and training programs
by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training
and awards .5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is a designated
provider of continuing education contact hours (CECH) in health
education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing,
Inc. This program is a designated event for the CHES to receive
5 Category I contact hours in health education, CDC provider number
GA0082.
